Reuth Medical Center

Reuth Medical Center is a  rehabilitation and chronic care facility with over 350 beds, a state-of-the-art hospital and the largest of its kind in the Tel Aviv area. Founded in 1961 with 25 beds for geriatric patients, the hospital now serves patients of all ages and has kept pace with the latest developments in medical treatment and society’s changing needs. Though much time has passed and our projects have evolved, Reuth’s  guiding principle has remained steadfast- the belief that every individual has the right to live with respect and dignity.

Reuth Medical Center is a university hospital which provides medical, rehabilitative and nursing care to adults, the elderly, children and infants. Affiliated with Tel Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Reuth is known for high professional standards and a warm, supportive atmosphere. Reuth Medical Center offers short-term and long-term rehabilitation, nursing care, intensive care for patients who are comatose or on ventilator support, and respiratory rehabilitation. Continuing treatment is available at the Mercaz Norma Day Rehabilitation Center for out-patient care.

Patients are referred to the RMC following prior initial medical treatment in an acute care facility. We work in partnership with all local Health Care Funds, insurance companies, the Ministries of Health and Defense, the Israel Defense Forces and private physicians. The most common causes of hospitalization are trauma, car accident injuries, terror and war-related injuries, debilitating diseases, post-operative complications and stroke victims.

Each patient receives an individualized program comprised of medical, physical and psychological therapy. Patients are afforded as much mobility and stimulation as possible, with the aim of providing the highest attainable quality of life, while simultaneously developing rehabilitative potential to the utmost. The active involvement of family members is central to this process. Many patients remain at Reuth Medical Center for a number of years and the hospital becomes a warm and caring home. Others undergo a rehabilitation program and are able to return home and to their community after a short period of hospitalization.

Our highly professional staff consists of physicians and nurses specializing in the fields of rehabilitation, geriatrics, neurology, internal medicine, pediatrics and physiotherapy. The multidisciplinary staff includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, dieticians, psychologists, pharmacists, and X- ray technicians; as well, volunteers play an integral role in all activities.
