In addition to resident volunteers, a large group of outside volunteers, former employees and other good citizens, also dedicate their time and energy to the tenants.
One unique volunteer activity is the “Chavruta” project – weekly meetings between high school students and lone, elderly tenants with mobility limitations. Both sides benefit from this relationship: residents receive a warm human touch that eases their loneliness, and the young students are exposed to a life stories and realities very different from their own. In over a decade of operation, this project has acquired very positive experience, and some ties between residents and students have been preserved for many years.
We salute all volunteers, and invite more people to join them.
