Geriatrics

Background

Elderly people tend to suffer from multiple medical problems, as well as weakness, dizziness, difficulties in urinating, depression, repeated falling, dementia, and the effects of taking many medications at the same time.

General geriatrics

The clinic treats elderly people suffering from problems that are typical to their age group. In particular: diminished functional capabilities, dementia, incontinence, insomnia and repeated falling.

Senior geriatric specialists, assisted by medical experts in urology, neurology, psychiatry and rehabilitation, as well as a multidisciplinary team comprising a nurse, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist and more, run the clinic.

The complexity of symptoms presented by this population often requires thorough, broad multidisciplinary evaluations, which can only be achieved in a concentrated manner, at a single location and within a few hours.

In addition to diagnosis, using a broad range of tools, the staff has also developed several treatment programs for balance problems and fall prevention, reduced functional abilities and memory problems.

Psycho-geriatrics

The clinic diagnoses and treats elderly patients with behavioral problems and cognitive deterioration. Treatment includes support for the family, monitoring the patient’s condition, assistance in making decisions regarding assistance and help, choosing a seniors’ residence etc. The team includes geriatric and psycho-geriatric specialists, social workers and occupational therapists
